Living with epilepsy can be tough and impact on someone’s everyday life. It can affect independence, relationships, employment and education. Our volunteer-led Talk and Support Groups offer a lifeline for people affected by epilepsy.

At whatever stage someone is at in the epilepsy journey, whether new to the condition or facing a new set of challenges, our Talk and Support Groups are there to help.

We are looking for volunteers to help deliver our Leicester Talk and Support Group, could this be you?

The Leicester Talk and Support Group meets at 3pm on the second Monday of the month at The Place To Eat Restaurant in John Lewis (2 Bath House Lane, Leicester, LE1 4SA). On completing your induction and training, you will be working with the existing volunteer to help run the group each month.

As well as preparing for and hosting the group every month you will be joining our community of amazing Talk and Support Group volunteers across the UK. They meet virtually every month to keep updated about what’s happening within Epilepsy Action, they support each other and champion people affected by epilepsy. You will also have your own volunteer supervisor who will provide regular support and supervision and be on hand when you need them.

If you live near Leicester and are patient, compassionate and can empathise with the challenges people, and their families, face when living with epilepsy why not apply. You will find this is an exciting, sometimes challenging, but hugely rewarding role providing a service that our users rely upon and value.
